Taito Innovaatiot project 2001–2006

Taito Innovaatiot Project is the Finnish Crafts Organization’s national development project for the crafts and arts sector. The aim of the project is to strengthen crafts entrepreneurship by establishing preconditions for internationalisation and cooperation with the tourism sector. The project aims to develop enterprises’ and other parties’ networking and new innovative activities and products. In the Taito Innovaatiot Project crafts is seen as a part of a larger entity in which crafts, tourism and experience economy form a diverse service entity which is connected to the region’s culture.

The Finnish Crafts Organization is responsible for the coordination of the national project, education, research and learning material.

The Project's target group is composed of entrepreneurs in the crafts and tourism sectors, organizations in the culture sector, Crafts Associations, educational organizations and municipalities.

The coordination project ran from 1 January 2001 to 31 December 2006 and it was financed by the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the European Social Fund.
