National Costumes in Finland – Traditions from East and West -webinaari
What regional differences and characteristics there are for eastern and western areas in national costumes in Finland? Do the national costume traditions of Finnish and Swedish-speaking regions differ from each other?
The webinar will examine the richness and diversity of national costumes led by two experts. Taina Kangas, national costume consultant at the Finnish National Costume Centre, will talk about the national costume tradition of Finnish-speaking regions and in particular the regional differences and characteristics of costumes. Maria Lindén, national costume consultant at Brage Costume Office, will present the national costumes of the Swedish-speaking regions of Finland and their history.
